First the Music biz and now the software biz? This article points out that CompUSA will be introducing a new kiosk delivery system for software. “It saves shelf space…” and other excuses. With so many on broadband connections, why isn’t software distribution going the ITunes route? I know that I can buy some development titles with online delivery, but why not bigger software (e.g. Games and Utilities)? It’s even environmentally conscience. I for one *hate* jewel cases and software boxes. I don’t need/want a printed manual. I hope this is the beginning of the end for shrinkwrap delivery in general.
